The Jane Austen Book Club
Has anyone seen this movie? I just saw a trailer for it and I thought it looked really cute. If no one else has seen it, I say we all get together and watch it! Well it looks like you'd have to find a bunch of girls to watch it with, anyway. Hehe.

My sister and I saw this over the weekend. We laughed quite a bit, but I don't think I'd recommend it. There were several parts that made the movie uncomfortable.
Some friends start a Jane Austen book club after one of their friend's marriage ends when her husband tells her he's seeing someone else. Her daughter is in the book club. She and her mom seem to have a really good relationship. She is a lesbian, and some of the scenes about her life were uncomfortable (and at least one of the scenes was 100% not important to the story). Another member of the group is a school teacher and she falls for one of her students. Also quite uncomfortable.
The guy they have in the club was a very familiar face, but Rorie and I couldn't figure out where we'd seen him. His character was funny, and lightening some of the awkwardness.
Anyway, interesting, awkward, and uncomfortable sum this one up.
I agree 100%. When I saw it I liked it overall. I cried a butt-load. Not really sure why. I think the drama in the 2 marriages was making me upset. Of course there were happy tears too. I dunno, maybe it was hormones!
